We are seeking a talented and passionate Bread Baker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking artisanal bread from scratch, with a keen understanding of not only the art but also the science of bread baking. You have the ability to understand how fluctuating room temperatures and temperamental ovens affect the day's bake. You value constant improvement, and take pride in your work. You have made baking your career. You will be responsible for creating high-quality baked goods and your expertise will contribute to maintaining our high standards of quality.
Duties
Prepare and bake a variety of products including (but not limited to) sourdough breads, bagels, inclusion loaves and other baked goods.
Slice and package wholesale orders, if required.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area to adhere to food safety standards.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods.
Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continuously improve skills.
Requirements
Proven experience in bread baking on a commercial and/or artisan level.
Strong understanding of food safety practices within a kitchen environment.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
A passion for culinary arts and creativity in crafting unique baked goods.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if needed.
Distance Incentive
The bakery is located in downtown Port Dover, Ontario. If you are located more than 45 minutes away, there is a one hour paid incentive per work-day to cover travel one-way.
